"Together At 60" Nigeria gets new theme and logo ahead of 1st October independence day celebration

 As Nigeria prepares for her diamond jubilee (60 years) celebration of independence, the president has unveiled the Nigeria at 60 logo and theme.




 The unveiling which was witnessed by the vice president and federal ministers took place on Wednesday 16th september, 2020 during the Federal Executive Council meeting. The theme of the 60th anniversary celebration is "Together shall we be".


 The activities commemorating Nigeria's diamond jubilee will last eleven months according to president Mohammadu Buhari in his speech


 As stated in his speech, the president hinted on the fact that the global Covid-19 pandemic has made imperative that the celebrations be low-keyed. 


 He also stated that the unveiled logo is the popular choice of Nigerians as Nigerians were asked to make a choice from a set of four pre-selected logos that will appropriately define the theme "Together at 60." 


Buhari went on to elaborate on the meaning of the logo stating how the diamond on the Nigerian map symbolizes our age of treasure, the worth of the Nigerian people who sparkle to the admiration of the world.


 The two green colors on the map reminds us of the warmth, Welcoming spirit as well as the abundant wealth inherent in our human capital and the richness of our land. All these put together is what made us the most prosperous black nation in the world and Africa's largest economy.

Higher institutions in kano state to resume October 26th

As so many higher institutions within the country have resumed back to normal activities, kano state higher institutions are yet to resume Yesterday, Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure kano state commissioner of higher education declared in a statement as she briefed  journalist in kano state ministry of education headquarters about the resumption of higher institutions in the state. Bunkure said that, the state government has slated 26th October 2020 as the resumption date for higher institutions in the state.  She added, saying, institutions in the state have prepared well based on the reports from officials assinged to go round and check how far institutions have gone with preparation of the complete return of students  The state government has urged the institutions to provide hand sanitizer and face masks to ensure compliance to COVID-19 protocols.
