A 22years old young man has made history for his nation and himself by becoming the very first slovenian 🇸🇮 to win the famous/ pretigeous Tour de France in Paris on sunday
He took the race 59 seconds ahead of his compatriot Primoz Roglic. It was a triple deal for Tadej Pogacar as tweeted by @letourdata.
Pogacar is the first slovenian to win Tour de France, first rider to dominate the overall KOM and best young rider standings in the same edition, first rookie to win overall since 1983 and youngest winner since 1904.
Pogacar wrote history at the TDF 2020. In a commend, Pogacar said he couldn't describe how he was feeling. He said "I never thought I would be here. Its been an amazing three-week adventure. "
The race had to be moved from its traditional July slot because of the global COVID-19 pandemic which also limited the number of spectators with strict hygiene measures put in place.
So, after 3,400km of racing and three weeks of competition, 22 years old Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia took the yellow overall leaders jersey ahead of his compatriot Primoz Roglic who came in second overall and Australian Richer Porte who came in third to be crown the winner of the 107th edition of Tour de France 2020.
